Let’s see what’s making news in the ever so popular Indian auto industry which gets more interesting each passing day with a new car or bike model being launched almost every month and the sales volumes completely bypassing the recession (if any)  

Adding to the list of hatchbacks in India, Honda recently launched its latest up-street hatchback – the Honda Jazz. The base model is priced at Rs. 6.98 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) which by far is the most expensive small car in India. Jazz comes fully loaded with features and specifications one would usually expect to find in a mid size up-market sedan, going by the emerging trend in the market which is to go far the best small car money can buy (and going by the ever decreasing parking spaces) Honda Jazz seems like a good bet for the geeky-bopper segment of the market.  

Coming to Automotive trends, I believe that the Indian automobile industry is in its nascent stage and is expected to boom in the next 2-5 years in a big way. India is also the second largest two-wheeler market in the world and with the emergence of the new middle class (which is growing every successive year), the four-wheeler segment is set for tremendous growth and one can expect of more impetus to the economy from this sector. Little wonder then that today the Indian Auto industry has become the centre of attraction for most of the global automotive giants. I have come to expect more heated competition, better customer focus and approach, value for money pricing and new model launches in every segment on an aggressive basis from almost all major auto players in this Industry.
